For the second consecutive year, Air Force Federal Credit Union (AFFCU) received the Designation of Savings Excellence for Credit Unions from America Saves and American Savings Education Council (ASEC). America Saves/Military Saves Week, held this year from February 27-March 4, is a national endeavor comprised of over 1,000 government, non-profit, and corporate organizations to encourage individuals to save money. Military Saves Week encourages our service members and their families to save.
During America Saves/Military Saves Week, AFFCU hosted 14 free financial classes, with over 770 military personnel and their family members in attendance. AFFCU actively participated in #ASW17 and #MSW2017 social media engagement throughout the week, providing savings advice in eight financially-focused Twitter conversations, and orchestrating a special #MilitarySaves focused chat hosted by Experian, to discuss financial topics that affect military personnel.
In addition, a special AFFCU Military Saves Share Certificate was offered to active duty personnel for two weeks during America Saves/Military Saves Week to promote automatic savings.
President/CEO of AFFCU, Bob Glenn, stated “We are honored to be recognized and will continue to lend our support to our military and their families whenever and wherever it may be needed.”
