Phone Scam Alert—February 11, 2009
The Credit Union has been notified that individuals are receiving phone messages to contact Air Force Federal Credit Union immediately stating: “A possible third party use of your Air Force Credit Union card was made and your card will be suspended”. “To speak to a representative please press one.” Once they press the number, they are transferred to an automated service company requesting more information. If you receive a request for this information, you should not respond to it.
There are so many ways for perpetrators to attempt to get personal information, including the use of auto-dialers. It is important to remember to limit the release of personal information in order to protect yourself from fraud. Note: Air Force Federal Credit Union will never ask you to provide account numbers, passwords, Social Security Numbers or other private or personal information about you through e-mail or by fax.
